According to the highly respected Belleville News-Democrat here are the best estimates for how long to keep packets of various condiments: One year for mayo, relish, BBQ sauce, tartar sauce, horseradish sauce, maple syrup, salad dressings and ketchup. One to two years for olive oil, Parmesan cheese, taco sauce, mustard and soy sauce. Two to three years for jelly in plastic tubs. Three to four years for Tabasco sauce, pepper and vinegar. Honey along with salt and sugar can be kept indefinitely. Fast food restaurants are a trap for a cheap one, but there are some tricks. Some value menues are good. Two tacos for 99 cents at JITB, $2 6 peice McNuggets etc. Some items especially breakfast items don't really require sauce, but they still offer it, and if they don't you can still ask for it. The mayonaise and the ranch are the best to ask for - especially if you don't need anything for that order. File under: CHEAP!

Dollar Tree is moving it's way up the cheapguy food-chain as it still keeps all items, that's right - All items at $1.00. The 99 cents ONLY store doesn't have anything for 99 cents. Nothing. interesting finding I live in a highly populated area and there are three Dollar Tree locations located in my "travel circle" and they are all different in their shopping experience. For example product selection - one location doesn't even bother with a refrigeration section, another location sometimes has the cinnamon rolls I like and the other two never do. All three are very different in square feet. And all are different in prioritizion of merchandising, customer service, full shelf-stocking and cleanliness. It's kind of a bad thing, but it keeps me going to all three spots every week or two.
